Overall Satisfaction with Remote Desktop Services

We use remote desktop services in our organization for several different things. We use it to access remote PCs. We also use it to access a remote desktop environment with thin clients on our production floor. This allows us to have central application management for anyone to access from many different clients

Pros

  • Simple to use.
  • Easily able to configure for automatic.

Cons

  • Better option for screen visibility.
  • Option to access more than one session in the same window or switch between them.
  • Can be a little laggy at times.
  • Simple access for "kiosk" users.
  • Fast connection to remote PC's.
  • Ease of IT access.
Overall, it's very easy to use. On the same note, it is very bare bones and has very limited features. If you're just looking to access an application or a remote desktop, it is perfect for that. On occasion, there can be issues with the number of users, so you'll need to make sure your organization is set up the way you're planning to use it.
Overall, remote desktop is so much easier to use if you are OK with the limited tools that it offers. If you're just looking to simply connect to another computer and make some quick changes, it is the way to go and the fastest way to do it. It is very simple and no frills!

Do you think Remote Desktop Services delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Remote Desktop Services's feature set?

No

Did Remote Desktop Services live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Remote Desktop Services go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Remote Desktop Services again?

Yes

This is well-suited if you need to log in to a remote machine on occasion to make updates or change configurations. It is also good for a production environment or for environments where people need to log in to use common applications, so you don't need to install the application on each individual client.
