Overall Satisfaction with RingCentral MVP

RingEX is being used by our entire small business for our phone system. We utilize it both for inbound/outbound communications with clients, as well as internal communications between employees as well. We also use RingEX for faxes and remote call support when employees are out of the office.
  • The RingEX "HUB" is really nice. It allows you to see specifically who in your organization is on the phone at any time, and who they're connected with. Very handy.
  • It's nice how easy it is to login on the app and switch where your calls are directed -makes it easy to move to your cell phone if required.
  • Voicemail transcription is quite useful, and works VERY well. I rarely have to listen to voicemails anymore, which is handy as all get out.
  • You can't see the HUB on your mobile app! As a manager, I wish I could login and see who's on the phone in real time, from my mobile device. It only works on a computer, sorta lame.
  • They have serious issues with how faxes are routed through their call system. If someone faxes a non-dedicated extension, the fax comes through as a VOICE call instead of fax! Super annoying - you pick up the phone to hear fax noises. We've had to adjust our internal processes because of this issue.
  • Call quality can sometimes be a bit laggy. Occasionally our customers will complain of choppiness, despite having a super-fast internet connection.
  • It has definitely provided more cohesion amongst our support team, as we're able to more easily see "who's taking what" in real time, thanks to the HUB feature of RingEX.
  • Compared to our previous telecom provider, we have had far less advanced troubleshooting issues. Although there are sometimes annoyances, far and wide, the system works as designed. We rarely (if ever) have system wide outages. Not the case with our previous provider.
  • The fax issue previously described had wasted a LOT of our internal time - both from the end user perspective, AND from a fix-it perspective. We could NOT figure out what was going on, and RingEX ultimately didn't have a good solution for us. So that took a lot of back and forth.
  • Comcast VOIP
I'm wary of entering into yet another agreement with Comcast - RingEX won our business since this is "all they do" - and I like that. They do have a pretty solid product at a decent price. However, I do feel like from a tech-perspective, they leave a lot on the table. It feels "close" to perfect in a lot of ways, but not all the way there.
Foxit PDF Editor (FoxitPhantom), Google Hangouts (Classic), Google Drive
Great for SIMPLE call trees and user extensions. It has trouble with advanced call routing, in my experience. The "builder" for call trees is clunky and cumbersome and regularly drops changes prior to saving. I'm not a huge fan of that tool. We've ended up greatly reducing our call tree as users complained of delayed button responses and oddities when flowing through the queue. Often times RingEX support will unsuccessfully attempt to recreate the issue and just mark it as "closed" which can be frustrating.
