Overall Satisfaction with Sage Accounting

We are an NGO and currently use Sage Accounting as our accounting platform. We needed a system initially for us to send clients/donors invoices and as we have grown we have expanded our knowledge and use of so much more. With purchase invoices, banking and reconciliations to getting the most of reporting. It's very user friendly with a great system of support and knowledge in the event you need to troubleshoot. This has definitely helped in so many areas of our accounting and reporting and we hope to expand our scope and use as we grow further.

Pros

  • sales invoices and tailoring to your specific needs/requirements
  • banking and linking to all your accounts such as Pleo, stripe and multiple bank accounts
  • extracting data

Cons

  • when payments are made via stripe we then have limited scope to edit/unallocate if we need to make a change or addition to help with our reporting
  • automated emailing of overdue invoices would be helpful
  • it has helped with our cashflow as an NGO with invoices being paid promptly
  • we have seen a positive impact our our reporting from the data inputted and showing the numbers in more accurate detail from the reports run
  • a positive ROI on our time - we have everything in one place and our time no longer wasted
Having no accounting training or background and starting from scratch with no prior knowledge of accounting platforms I have found the usability to be fantastic as I have been learning on the go and thorugh trial and error and also making use of the support on offer. I do know Sage offer more training and expansion of my skill set. My only issue is finding the time to take advantage of this facility
I would still class myself as a novice and having a base line of knowledge of the system and no doubt could utilise many more functions/features

Would you buy Sage Accounting again?

Yes

We initially have used Sage for primarily sales invoices which enabled a more professional experience and also better reporting and tracking of payments. The ability to also have clients pay by card has helped with ease of use and engagement. It has also been very helpful in helping us record all our purchasing data and using the various elements that give us really useful information in the background that can give insightful reports for board meetings and general updates for the team.
