Sage Accounting Start

Overall Satisfaction with Sage Accounting

I use it for my daily bookkeeping, bank and credit card account reconciliation and invoice tracking. The software helps me keep track of my business spending and money coming in and gives me a snapshot of my AR. I am the owner of the business and a solo-preneur, so having an easy to use software that's available online makes it simple.

Pros

  • Invoicing
  • Dashboard for followup
  • Collecting payments

Cons

  • When I am invoicing, I'd like to be able to select expense categories so that I can allocate invoice items to certain expenses
  • I make the same notes on my invoices every time. It would be nice to have the option to copy or pick from a dropdown so I don't have to copy and paste from another app
  • Starting out from nothing, it was nice to have access to the software at a discounted price for the first 6 months. This relieved some pressure
  • It's easy to go in and invoice my customers and then get back to work
Sometimes when I log in after an extended period of absence, it takes me a bit to become familiar with the software again and to find what I'm looking for. Some of the terminology can be confusing to an owner who's not an accountant, so maybe some shortcuts of previous tasks in the dashboard could be helpful, especially for repetitive tasks.

It's easy to use and easy to set up. I had no issues getting everything going and now I can log in and do my tasks quickly and move on with my day.
