Overall Satisfaction with Sage Accounting

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are currently enrolled in Sage Accounting along with Sage HR and Payroll. Used mainly for invoicing clients, paying vendor bills and general accounting. Sage Accounting was recommended by our accountant after we outgrew QuickBooks and had several automation issues with QB duplicating entries from the bank feed a as well as multiple entries for the same transactions. Done was user error due to misunderstanding of the processes while some were just odd system issues. So far Sage Accounting has been ok with the bank feeds but it does not support USD bank accounts well, does not offer purchase orders and does not do a great job of tracking costs by customer.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Automated bank feed for CAD bank accounts
Reconciliation is fairly easy
Credit card payments for client invoices can be turned off/on before sending to clients to avoid big processing fees

Cons

No purchase order function
No USD bank feed or connection function means manual reconciliation
No USD or multi currency support with Stripe
Payroll direct deposit issues with Vopay - we were declined an account with no reason given
User account issues experienced lock out and inability to access the product
Too many clicks to navigate between transactions
Client statements do not show history of transactions with balances by date of transaction
No ability to email client receipts
No user friendly ability to track expenses and vendor bills by customer to run clear profit/loss reports by customer

Usability

Does not meet all needs such as purchase orders, usd reconciliation of bank accounts, multi currency credit card processing, fewer clicks than QB
