Overall Satisfaction with SAP Analytics Cloud

We use SAP Analytics Cloud as our primary reporting tool across nearly all of the functional areas of SAP S/4HANA. It allows democratized dashboard development across the business units via Analytics Power User community that we have set up.

The insights generated via this SAP Analytics Cloud platforms capability are essential for the data-driven decision making occurring daily.

Pros

  • With the SAP Analytics Cloud platform using Data Analyzer capability it can easily connect to BW/4HANA queries and SAP Analytics Cloud models to allow business questions to be answered via slice and dice analysis of the various dimensions and measures in the scope of the data model.
  • The ability to create calculated measures and restricted measures right there in the story or insight is invaluable.
  • The security aspects are especially key to keeping the data made available for only those with a need to know.

Cons

  • It would need to be better at scheduling output in the background for insights and reported exceptions to be able to arrive in the users inbox as required the next day.
  • Some performance runtime delays are observed on occasion
  • The depth of insight that is able to be provided by connecting to a well designed BW Query is invaluable and the business stakeholders are thrilled to have this much capability at their fingertips.
It is also mobile ready and while it is not quite up to some of the competitor products it is sometimes like comparing apples and oranges since any limitations are outweighed by the real-time connectivity capability
