Overall Satisfaction with SAP Analytics Cloud

We use this solution for reporting and project planning. It is being used by our finance department for decision making and smart insight as well.

Pros

  • Dashboard & Visualizations. Here we have a variety of charts that suit a particular use case and a robust dashboard as well.
  • Ease of use. The user interface is user friendly and even keyboard shortcuts are available which makes things faster.
  • Smart Insights. Provided in natural language.

Cons

  • Missing customization for planning.
  • Cloud integration is complex.
  • Doesn't work well with Internet Explorer.
Power BI doesn't have business logic readily available which Analytics Cloud does better in that area.
Large number of data sources are available for SAP is large but the possibility is there for non-SAP solutions as well. Likely, Google Cloud Platform, Google Sheets. There should be availability for real-time integration with other cloud sources as we have to trigger the batch periodically.
We have role-based control over the data model and the same can be shared across the team members. We have SSO as security which is seamless for role management.
SAP Analytics Cloud is well suited for visualization like charts and tables which actually works real-time, but less appropriate for creating our own visual story with company branding which is difficult.
