Overall Satisfaction with SAP Build

Right now only sandbox, but have started to create automation projects and potential app projects that could be useful in the future.

Pros

  • Drag and drop
  • Speed up development time

Cons

  • Debugging of build apps and process automation
  • User experience (also some better documentation would be appreciated)
  • It’s shown great potential in e.g, making already existing processes simpler (remove manual steps, keep everything within SAP without integration of other third parties)
I have integrated it with Fiori and also SAP GUI. For Fiori we have tested some manual steps to automate (e.g access an app and perform some action) same goes for GUI. Had many problems with inconsistency, and especially in the UI5 library. Components changing based on versions, so then the screen recording is broken.
Right now it’s not major, but for now it’s only in automations (where a process of different apps is now replaced with a form triggering get request to sap, then performing a save into a specific folder).
Because I think it is fairly easy to navigate. But at the same time, I still think it’s not mature enough for non-developers. At least for our use cases, it has been needed to perform coding in some sense. But ofc. I think joule will help a lot here.

Yes

Easy app development. Automation of already existing processes that take time to do manually. Right now it’s less appropriate for apps in more complex environments, and also when it’s required with offline fetching of data.
