Overall Satisfaction with SAP Business Technology Platform

We have vendor/supplier-facing applications as well as internal applications built using BAS and ABAP on the cloud and deployed on BTP. Now we are venturing into looking at CI/CD pipeline and some process automation services.

  • We struggled with setting up security with IAS and how platform users need to be set to global accounts before we can add them to subaccounts and spaces.
  • We worked out a security model based on AD groups to authenticate and manage the security of users.
  • Improved development times.
  • More developer friendly.
We have built applications and deployed applications on BTP consuming services from on-prem backend ERPs, as well as building services with ABAP on the cloud. I would like to know SAP's recommended approach for replication to BTP. We are still struggling to figure out the best way to replicate it.
We recently created a medium OSS incident for handling platform users and got a response back in time. however, not helpful totally.
connecting to SAP backend ERPs systems is flawless with BTP of course.

If your application is not MTA, I do not understand the need to host it on BTP. Also, we have built GHA pipelines for UI5 deployments. I am struggling to find out why I have to go for CI/CD pipeline service. Just for saving me server maintenance for the runners? More than infrastructure, I would be intrigued to know the use case for CI/CD service.
