Overall Satisfaction with SAP Business Technology Platform

We use Datasphere, BPA, SAC, SAP Build etc all on a global platform within national grid. The ease of the platform is fantastic, but can be tricky to understand commercially in some of the applications, however the beauty of having all of these under one umbrella is fantastic - as this really helps with the compliance elements around security (which is very hard to navigate in larger organisations)

Pros

  • Central repository for documentation, missions, commercial
  • Many applications all available under one roof
  • Integration and extensibility

Cons

  • Understanding commercials with Application portal specifically (very hard to gage a correct price)
  • Integration - SAP products should integrate to SAP products (there are still gaps in products like Datasphere to ARIBA, ECP etc)
  • Report to monitor consumption easily - this has been downloaded from github, but is expensive and needs to be out of the box from SAP to assist in monitoring charges
  • The ability to spin up multiple environments is fantastic
  • Connectivity challenges
  • AI strategy will be key with so many tech companies battling
The useability of the SAP Business Technology Platform is pretty good, the missions really help navigate the environment - as mentioned previously most of the applications integrate, but there are still some gaps - where we hope that these will be closed out in the next few months.
In the few times we had problems, these have been dealt with great service

Flexibility of the product set is paramount for us, and having the flexibility of the credit based scheme just works with huge projects in Grid - we can scale up and down, knowing that projects are short term in some cases, and we don't have to worry about individual contracts, more the commercial arrangement at the beginning (which can be then topped up)
