How SAP BTP Helped Us With Integration and Automation.
Overall Satisfaction with SAP Business Technology Platform
SAP BTP acts as the central layer for integrating applications. Connecting our core ERP with third-party applications like CRM, payment gateways, and supply chain tools to create a unified digital landscape. We utilize automation workflows on BTP systems, such as settlement and order approval, significantly reducing manual effort, particularly in settlements and reconciliation.
Pros
- System Integration – Earlier, we had a lot of trouble syncing ERP data with our CRM and payment systems.
- We created a workflow in BTP for approvals of high-value orders. Before, it used to go on an email chain.
- With BTP we can bring data from operations.
- Instead of waiting months for a vendor change, we built it quickly on BTP and connected it to the main system.
Cons
- The initial setup is honestly very confusing. Documentation is lengthy and sometimes difficult to follow.
- The UI is not very friendly. As a new user, I find it looks crowded, and I sometimes don’t know where to click.
- We were able to build small apps like refund tracking or order approval in weeks instead of months. That saved cost and also reduced dependency on external vendors.
- Workflows for approvals and settlements significantly reduce manual work. The finance team, in particular, saves many hours each week.
I have seen and used at least one use case - Using the BTP Workflow service, we created a process where the order automatically triggers a workflow.
We selected SAP BTP mainly because our company is already heavily invested in SAP ERP.
