Overall Satisfaction with SAP HANA

We are from the consulting world, and we build and help implement SAP Applications for our clients. We have also implemented SAP HANA for time-sheet management and resource management for our clients. We have also addressed the problem regarding payroll and on-boarding of new hires. We have also helped in transforming clients’ ECC/Legacy systems to SAP HANA. Developed multiple CDS Views and analytical views to help them reduce costs in analysis and data management.
  • Administration.
  • It makes it very easy for the end users from the company admin to provision access and grant users authorisation to use various transactions and perform their day to day jobs very easily and seamlessly.
  • Our clients have also mentioned that the extension capabilities, i.e. customisations availed were really helpful and made it more suited to their business.
  • Analytics and Data Processing
  • Our clients business has boomed after using this feature. Their sales have gone up and their costs to market have reduced drastically.
  • They come to know exactly what market to target and the variety of users to target.
  • Security
  • The security features and integration to various IAM platforms such as Sailpoint Identity IQ, SAP IDM, SAP Cloud Administration Platform has been seamless for our clients.
  • They’ve really appreciated the security features available built into the SAP HANA platform.
  • Roles and authorisation concepts, use of CVA, use of ETD, and cloud based security solutions provided by SAP has been a boon for them.
  • These are easily integrated into the SAP HANA platform on top of the platform’s security.
  • Web IDE is too slow
  • A better way to interface with Web IDE would be a boon for all of us consultants and developers.
  • SAP HANA is only compatible with SUSE Certified hardware or SAP
  • Compatibility could be expanded.
  • Expansion in support for the existing architectures would also help reduce our costs and time to implement HANA on a massive scale.
  • At times we have faced an issue of HANA shutting down due to heavy data loads.
  • SAP HANA is on the cloud! Data can be accessed everywhere.
  • One just needs to have a smartphone and an internet connection.
  • Data can be accessed anytime and anywhere. It is this ease of use that reduces the costs and increases the efficiency of the user.
  • Our clients have been able to reduce up to 40-50% in inventory (Consumer industry) and on an average 60 to 70 minutes of users’ time is also saved.
  • This not only increases the productivity of the client but also the user. Making room for more action items than previously possible.
IBM UrbanCode Deploy provides the following features,
  1. Automated, consistent deployments and rollbacks of applications
  2. Automated provisioning, updating, and de-provisioning of cloud environments
  3. Orchestration of changes across servers, tiers and components
  4. Configuration and security differences across environments
  5. Clear visibility: what is deployed where and who changed what
  6. Integrated with middle-ware, provisioning and service virtualization
All of the above is already built into SAP HANA, and it happens in a more secure and a faster manner.
SAP HANA is IBM UrbanCode Deploy and then some more.
Generally the support is on point and gives a pretty good insight on the root cause and related matters. But at times it takes time for SAP to respond and get a good coverage of the issue. But the wait is worth it since it gives a more accurate and better support without further issues coming up with the post resolution steps provided. This avoids regression and roll-backs of the systems.

Do you think SAP HANA Cloud delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with SAP HANA Cloud's feature set?

Yes

Did SAP HANA Cloud live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of SAP HANA Cloud go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy SAP HANA Cloud again?

Yes

I would recommend SAP HANA to a colleague for the following reasons:
1. HANA is all about in-memory computing, which means that you get immediate real-time results.
2. HANA has many advantages such as mass data, agility, total cost of ownership, any data type processing etc.
3. HANA empowers the business user as opposed to the developer.
4. HANA is available as a physical box. Hence this makes you feel secure that you have all your data under your control.
5. HANA helps a lot in predictive analysis and also has an analytical library.
6. iPad apps that are built on the HTML5 platform can connect directly to HANA.
7. HANA is available on the cloud and also has a mobility platform.

For these reasons, SAP HANA is one of the best an enterprise can work with.
