Overall Satisfaction with SAP Master Data Governance

I have used SAP Master Data Governance in my organization during setting up new plant in the SAP S/4 HANA, the integration of SAP Master Data Governance helped in importing Master data such as: Material, Customer, vendor into the ERP system which could be used for further smoke testing, SIT and UAT before implementing into Go live. It helped us centrally master data management inlayer based function. SAP Master Data Governance aided in the overhaul simplification of master data management strategies, Plant, vendor, warehouse data management, ensuring the data efficiency and cost saving for the clients.

Pros

  • Data conversation and Data uploading into SAP S/4 HANA system using SAP Master Data Governance during SAP implementation phase.
  • Centrally Data governance to have visibility of data in different systems with integration to SAP Master Data Governance, including SAP S/4, SAP EWM and SAP Ariba.
  • Data Management and Data correction using MDM through SAP Master Data Governance for Materials, which is subjected to approval before finally using in the S/4.

  • It is relatively complex for the new user, the learning curve is somewhat tedious.
  • Inhouse implementation is cost heavy.
  • Since it can be implemented in cloud, helped us manage the data centrally and into wider personnel's visibility.

  • It created a trusted master reference like: product, customer data, finance data and those of asset data.
The support was well organized and timely based on our queries while uploading master data and for any missing data that we faced while uploading the data. The turnaround time was faster than expected and the response were precise to the queries our team had, so we are satisfied with the resolution and support.
Can't complain. Team is satisfied with the work and functionality. The go live went well, we encounter less issues in material upload and few issues that we had were promptly handled and instantly resolved by SAP support team by raising OSS, soso far good experience with SAP Master Data Governance. The features including Data quality and process analytics, Application in cloud and Central governance are a boon to the software.

When configuring and testing new plant and warehouse for our client in automotive industry we had to test warehouse business processes, for that we needed Mater data and transactional data. And We levied SAP Master Data Governance to import all the master data including Materials, Customer, vendor, work center, Bill of Material among other datas. Our inhouse SAP Master Data Governance team, tested the data accuracy, ran simulation before finally loading the data into SAP. There were many failed master data which could not be loaded because of missing prequisites like Plants, storage locations. We corrected them in SAP Master Data Governance system by configuring plants, slocs and adding them to the material.
