Overall Satisfaction with SAP S/4HANA Cloud

SAP is our ERP system and we pretty much use it for all our core processes. From accounting and controlling, material management, production, sales, warehouse management personell and payroll management. All the core processes run over SAP and having all the processes integrate makes it easier for our users to find any info they may need.

Pros

  • Very stable finance processes.
  • Flexibility to run the processes in more than one ways, depending on our needs.
  • Processes are based on Master Data stored in SAP, so there is no need to look the info up.

Cons

  • Deleting old transactional data (e.g. 15 year old orders / production order, etc) from the system is practically impossible, thus the database keeps growing and there is no way to keep its size under control.
  • Sometimes easy processes are made harder than they should be, as the offered solutions are deeply integrated, which can be a problem if this integration is not needed / offers small added value.
  • When new legislation changes are implemented, it takes a long time for them to be implemented / approved and most times we are getting SAP notes on how this can be manually implemented, instead of getting the new process in a support package that can be directly imported to the system. As far as we can understand this has to do with SAP approval process of new / changed programs that
  • SAP is as stable as an ERP can get, so there an mandays lost on recovering from problems, etc.
  • As as big and stable system, there are quite a few master data tables that need to be maintained on a constant base, so this does cost some extra time, but one gets to have fine tuned processes in return. So this is well invested time.
  • SAP is an expensive system in general, but it is as they say. You get what you pay for and SAP is just the best ERP you can get, so...
SAPs usability is great. If there is one ERP where one can adjust about anything there is to be adjusted, this is SAP. This sometimes also means having to maintain some extra master data, but this is to be expected and is well worth the extra effort. We wouldn't have it any other way!
  • Scalability
  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
The most important factor in our decision to choose SAP was the fact that it can integrate all our process. This helped us moving away from from separate non integrated solutions and the constant need of maintaining communication "bridges" between those separate systems, that were needed for each one of the systems to get the needed data from the other systems.

Yes

Are you happy with SAP S/4HANA Cloud's feature set?

Yes

Did SAP S/4HANA Cloud live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of SAP S/4HANA Cloud go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy SAP S/4HANA Cloud again?

Yes

SAP is the leading ERP system. If there is one system that can claim it can cover all possible use cases / scenarios a customer may have, that would be SAP. Based on the size of companies, for small companies (1-50 employees) SAP would not be a suitable choice, as the SAP system is mainly meant for bigger companies with many processes.
