Overall Satisfaction with SAP S/4HANA Cloud

In our company we mainly used this as an erp system to maintain and organize multiple departments like HR, supply chain and finance etc.
Before the implementation we had issues with integrating multiple departments and it also led to slow decision-making so SAP S/4HANA really helped us in integrating all the departments under one roof and helped us reduce manual work. Also helped us to enable data driven approach in our company.

Pros

  • I really liked its embedded analytics which helped our workers to view the KPIs directly in the workflow. and it also increased the monitoring efficiency a lot.
  • It helped in reducing manual work and implemented automation in most areas like journal entry and other manual works. It also helped in reducing manual errors in the team with the help of its AI/ML features.
  • Its integrated procurement is pretty solid with its automated approvals for P2p Process which helped us to ensure compliance with our policies.

Cons

  • I think it lacks some customization features in workflows. and some of the policies restrict our internal policies so it could be improved a bit.
  • Initial implementation is somewhat complex to begin with and requires expert to configure and setup.
  • I also felt the user interface is somewhat complex as well compared to some other similar services.
  • In the automating the routine tasks like invoices and other smaller tasks like journal entries it has been solid and improved almost 30-35%
  • Also reduced the infrastructure maintenance expenses considerably by 20%
  • But the initial implementation cost was somewhat high and took a chunk of our budget.
In my experience has a solid web based user interface which makes the navigation easier for new users to get into. Also i would say the learning curve is a bit steep so it would also take sometime to get to know all the features. But with good training it would be great to work and increases efficiency a lot so overall its a great cloud service.

I think the main factor for my decision is its integration capabilities. It seamlessly connects with all other SAP products and makes the work much more easier for the different teams to work in an single environment. Also the native integration and API based connect allows us to have unified data for all the departments which is really solid.
We have been using AI agents in procurement to help us in identifying suppliers with potential risks so that we could avoid it beforehand. Also we used the data and AI to forecast material requirements with precision which helped in optimizing the inventory. Also it helped in automating some smaller tasks with AI powered workflows.
Previously we had implemented Azure Cloud Services which had cost us excessively compared to SAP cloud. Also I found the user interface easier to work with compared to the azure cloud as well. Overall the features are really good compared to Azure and cost is also less compared to it.

I think it well suited for organizations with a large and complex infrastructures as it can handle them very easily in my opinion.
It is also recommended for companies which are planning to move to mostly automated environments, in which it can be implemented in a good manner. I also think it is not suited or less suited for smaller scale organizations as the cost of operation could exceed the budget.
