We use it for process documentation and identification of improvements in process efficiency,

Pros

  • Helps define standardized methodology for process documentation.
  • Process diagram drawing is pretty easy to use and productive.
  • Complies with BPMN standards.

Cons

  • Process analysis on existing systems sounds very promising but was not of much help in our case.
  • Can help identify different paths for a process but not automatically determine what caused the different paths.
  • Process Inteligence, requires manual work to assign defined processes to users, one by one, rather than by groups.
  • Increased project organization
  • Provided visibility of as is processes to business owners
  • Identified some areas for improving process efficiency
As in other IT projects, this would require dedicated resources, not only from the implementation partner but also from the company implementing the solution. Employees who are in charge of departments or have responsibility on efficiency of processes will find a great partner in SAP Signavio Process Transformation Suite.
We've had good response times so far and solutions have been provided.
SAP Signavio Process Transformation Suite stacks up mainly in collaboration features and definition of standards.

Recommended for process documentation with a defined set of rules (for example BPMN standards) and for approvals to deploy new processes. Also exporting process documentation to word / pdf works well.

I would not recommend for automatic process inteligence.
