Overall Satisfaction with SAP SuccessFactors

SAP SuccessFactors is used to manager the full employee life cycle from hiring. onboarding, HRCM, succession and career planning. We are looking to optimize our use and improve the employee experience. We integrate heavily with Microsoft products. My focus is talent development and management.

  • In my opinion, there's so much customization it's over whelming where to start
  • In my opinion, modules are disconnected for user experience (many, many clicks to get anywhere)

  • In my opinion, You need a SAP degree to administer to SAP
  • In my opinion, really difficult to get customer support vs go read for hours
  • Great for talent acquisition with a repeatable process so long as the process does not change
  • Requires more people to administer the system as it's complex
SAP SuccessFactors is one of the hardest system integrations for anything that is not core HRCM such as learning and talent management. In my opinion, API's are difficult to work with and require and additional company such as IBM to support integrations. In my opinion, this is why they have partners.
We require a third party to help implement. In my opinion, it's very complex and customizable system that still does not meet many of our user needs. In my opinion, it's good for a few groups but painful for many.
We did not select SAP SuccessFactors for learning or career management. It was a decision made by our HRCM group and they thought it was a great idea to buy all the applicable modules without consultation.

Appropriate for companies with large knowledgeable technical support. In my opinion, it's less appropriate for companies where learning and development are a focus. In my opinion, Truly a HRCM system and not very good at all the other parts but passable enough to create frustrations for the other 50% of HR.
