I use Semrush to teach students SEO, SEM, and Display advertising strategies and tactics. Semrush has been wonderful to use in the classroom to help students practice online marketing techniques (Keyword research, Site audit, competitive analysis & content marketing). Students find Semrush helps them easily grasp the critical skills needed in online marketing.
- Competitive Research - Gather insight into what the competition is doing for SEO and SEM
- Site Audit - Quickly allows you to find technical SEO issues and provides suggestions for correcting issues
- Keyword Research - Provides insight into question and long-tail keywords
- Data Accuracy - Sometimes the position tracking and KD % are a bit off. However, the data provides you with a decent gauge for making decisions.
- Learning Curve - If you are new SEO or SEM, it may take you a bit to learn the all the tool sets in Semrush. However, they provide a lot of good tutorials as well as a helpful blog.
- Cost - The tool is worth every penny. However, some smaller businesses or freelancers may see the cost as a barrier. They should do a cost benefit analysis to see how this product can quickly pay for itself by saving time and growing the business.
