Overall Satisfaction with Shift
I use it independent of my organization to manage both my work and personal email addresses.
Pros
- Handling login authentication - typically anyway
- Keeping me from having multiple browser windows with email clients open (one stop application)
- Updates are relatively painless
Cons
- One setup on a personal laptop refuses to log into my personal gmail account. It gets rejected no mater how I uninstall, update, or reconfigure it. Very frustrating!
- Microsoft authentication sometimes gets confused and requires me to hit back and refresh multiple times to fix it.
- It would be nice to have a more unified interface for email and calendar - ie. application level buttons so I don't need to hunt for their web interface locations in every application. Dedicated email and calendar buttons in the app would save me a lot!
- Also, the applications URL bar vs the search in gmail/outlook can be confusing so times. It would be good to clearly label it or have the ability to hide it or something as I don't normally need it and it just adds confusion.
- It simply makes going to my email/calendar faster
I have tried some of the integrations but find it works best with just gmail and Outlook style interfaces. I had tried Clickup when I used it and slack in the past, but prefer those as stand alone.
I just makes email/calendar easier/faster to access - which is certainly a plus!
More general but also not as integrated and requires me to jump through some mime hoops to get a meeting going vs Teams opening it seamlessly.
