Overall Satisfaction with Shift
I am a manager, a university instructor, and an independent scholar. I am proud to work in these fields concurrently. Keeping track of all this work requires me to have the ability to easily switch between my multiple email accounts, calendars, and priority trackers. I discovered Shift several years ago, and I have been a devotee ever since! It allows me to juggle my different jobs and different scopes of work easily and painlessly.
Pros
- Allows for easy, seamless shifting between email accounts.
- Allows users to keep track of multiple distinct calendars without overlap or confusion.
- Has good integration with other workplace apps for productivity support.
Cons
- Some email accounts do not sync due to firewalls with an external institution.
- Sometimes it takes a bit longer to boot up.
- Efficiency in switching between different institutions, projects, and priorities.
- Reduced stress from not having to fight with Outlook 2FA while switching between projects.
- Ease of organization for project development.
I use Gmail, Outlook, and Office 365, which are fully integrated into Shift. Some organizations I work with are Outlook-based, and some are Gmail-based; Shift allows me to use both. Office 365 web-based projects are easy to use through the software rather than having to fight with the browser. I also have integration with apps like Asana.
The most significant benefit of Shift is that it reduces the time wasted shuffling between different applications and support systems. It allows for improved collaboration between different organizational priorities and supports. As a user, I have found it to be beneficial, which has dramatically improved my productivity as a supporter of this product.
