Overall Satisfaction with Siemens PLM software

Siemens PLM software was used widely by Engineering and Supply Chain for CAD model management, ECO management, document management and BOM management (eBOM and mBOM). This software allowed collaboration across multiple global locations with hundreds and thousands of end users working in various engineering functions and responsibilities. This software was key to keeping teams in synch regarding live designs and on time for project completion / deadlines.
  • BOM Management
  • Integrated CAD Management
  • Customization of API
  • Forward compatibility
  • Integration between Teamcenter and NX and which versions will work together
  • Performance / speed
  • Improved collaboration across global sites
  • Reduced rework through file management
  • Intellectual property protection through SSO and security measures
I don't personally believe that Enovia is a suitable replacement when dealing with heavy CAD integration. Siemens is the only choice in my opinion. For something less CAD focused such as recipe management or BOM management without CAD that may be a different discussion.
Too much invested, too many business processes and integrations with other internal systems. It would be a huge cost to switch and probably a losing proposition for the other offerings that are available.
Where very small companies or small amounts of data exist Teamcenter and Siemens PLM software is probably overkill for the price and costs to implement and maintain. For anything larger than a 50+ part assembly, 50+ users, etc, Siemens PLM should be a serious consideration during the evaluation of a PDM / PLM solution.
