Overall Satisfaction with Slido
Currently in corporate L&D, I found a need to fall back to what I know from my time in education to build engaging and interactive learning experiences, especially with regards to professional learning for adults. Slido has been a tool I began implementing during certain sessions to turn basic direct instruction and speaking engagements into interactive experiences with Q&A, polling, quick assessments and more. Corproate L&D is looking for ways to check the face of learning drawing on people's experiences and needs in learning sessions. This helps change the ownership of learning.
Pros
- Quizzing
- Polling
- Transparency
- Surveys
Cons
- Limitations, especially on free versions
- Moderating requires some extra work
- More standalone, doesn't integrate within other tools/apps
- Increase in employee productivity and engagement
- Better understanding of concepts and skills being taught
- Learner ownership
- Google Slides
- Microsoft Powerpoint
Overall Slido does a good job. Google slides and PowerPoint both need to be integrated with other tools like Polleverywhere, or other tools that add in the engagement features. Otherwise, users will need to create the slides themselves, without the "live" tracking. Overall it works cross functionally with these tools.
