Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager (NCM)

We use this tool to manage our network devices from a single application, allowing us to push changes/updates, grab inventory, run reports, etc.
  • It allows for remotely managing a plethora of devices with one console.
  • It allows for running reports.
  • Great ease of modifying multiple devices at once.
  • Not too much that I can think of.
  • There is a huge return on investment with NCM.
We have used PRTG as a network monitoring tool, but it doesn't have the configuration or IPAM modules that SolarWinds possesses.
SolarWinds is well suited when you have a large environment and you need to push out config changes to a myriad of devices, and then you can do that from a central location as opposed to having to log in to each device.
