Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor

Our experience with SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM) is great. We (IT department) monitor more than 3000 devices, from routers to switches, servers to virtual environments. Is super easy to add new devices with network discovery. We also like to create all kind of alarms to be aware of any situation happening on the network.

Pros

  • Alarms
  • Maps and topologies
  • Manage devices and get real-time statistics about hardware

Cons

  • I think they need to polish the pollers, sometimes they crash.
  • Creates internal/operational efficiencies
NPM is really useful in data centers or any technology department that want to keep track all devices. Not only to know the status, but also to create reports.
