Overall Satisfaction with Spanning Backup for Salesforce

Spanning Backup for Salesforce is being used primarily by myself. I have given access to my team, but have not trained nor gone over its features and capabilities with the majority of the team. After having to do manual backups and using multiple tools to make sure we have a back up of our data and metadata, we switched to Spanning as it streamlined all backing up of SaaS data and metadata. The set it and forget it concept resolved issues of dedicating a resource to do the manual work.
  • Set it and forget it. Easy set up and it runs daily behind the scenes.
  • Restore holds record relationships.
  • Restore can merge records easily.
  • Not idiot-proof. This needs to be used by someone who is familiar with the data structure and the object mappings.
  • Easy to roll out.
  • Moves data to sandboxes as well.
  • No longer dedicating a resource to manual efforts.
  • Less work and money if disaster recovery is needed compared to Salesforce.
Very similar in features and setup. Spanning Backup for Salesforce was more affordable. After getting set up during the trial we were able to get that trial extended as we negotiated cost and contract and continued to use the same trail as production paid version as they update the subscription, not the install.
I would like a retention option on the data, but since this feature does not currently exist, I give it a 9. Everything has met our standards and needs and we are now freed up from the manual efforts it was taking for backing up Salesforce using the out-of-the-box features of Salesforce.

Do you think Spanning Backup delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Spanning Backup's feature set?

Yes

Did Spanning Backup live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Spanning Backup go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Spanning Backup again?

Yes

Spanning Backup for Salesforce is best for a company with data that doesn't expire. There is no retention of the data that is backed up as it completes daily incremental backups. If you only want specific time periods like a rolling 90 days, you will not be able to set this, so it may not be appropriate for this.
