Overall Satisfaction with Splunk AppDynamics

We use Splunk AppDynamics to export the logs of Kong API gateway, Apigee and Boomi for clients as its a better platform to play with logs .

Pros

  • Querying of Logs
  • Dashboards are intuitive
  • Setup is easy

Cons

  • Its Splunk forwarder can be improved, as its a little complex to setup.
  • The pricing can be better.
  • Having Splunk as a sole Logging Application reduces cost as all of the related applications logs gets accumulated in the same infrastructure instead of each for one application.
It's really easy to setup and creating dashboards and exporting them is a easy task.
Splunk AppDynamics is a quite renowned player and can be called legacy in front of them and apart from that, its integration with various services is unmatched.
