Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Storylane to build thorough end-to-end training videos for new clients, higher-level demos for potential clients, and short training videos of just one feature, for our help center.

Pros and Cons

Pros

The Storylane extension allows you to click through the pages to easily create a demo.
It's easy to change the background when you need to update screenshots for your product.
It's easy to duplicate a demo or duplicate a chapter and modify it.

Cons

For my needs, the AI guesses for the verbiage on my screenshots is never a good fit.
I would like to be able to make more bulk changes across all slides. There are a couple that you can do, but it is missing some that I need.
I'd like to set a different guide type as my default.

This has made it easy for me to convey new features in a customized way to multiple clients.

Storylane makes it really easy to get started with getting a bunch of slides in quickly and a general framework, but it's a little bit more tedious to go through slide by slide and make sure that everything is set up the way you wanted. The initial AI verbiage is usually trash for my needs, but the AI verbiage re-write is good (after I've written the first draft). I like the automatic timer move-forward option, but you cannot do a bulk edit across all slides. Although you can set a default timer across all slides, you can't bulk remove all that you have already entered, and you can't view which ones are already in there without clicking into every single slide and guide.

Likelihood to Recommend

The Storylane help center indicates that you should try to keep demos short, but I always use it for much longer training videos. It seems to be working well for that.
