Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Tableau is used across all departments within the organization. It addresses the daily reporting needs, and the management dashboard for the performance monitoring. Tableau gives more visualized data for the end users to consume information directly and easily. It also enables the trend analysis, and helps the business to do the forecasting.

Server performance needs to be enhanced to handle a large volume of data.
It's high version needs to be backward compatible.

Alternatives Considered

Power BI

Performance: Power BI does not stack up against Tableau if there are huge amounts of data needs to report or dashboarding. The visualization interface of Tableau is much more user-friendly than its competitors. Therefore, we are using the Tableau for our reporting, dashboarding, and many pattern recognitions. It is a great tool.

MicroStrategy Analytics, Microsoft Power BI

Likelihood to Recommend

For a straight forward dashboard, like a comparison of month to month, year over year, with filters are not more than 5; and summarized and aggregated reports, tableau is really standout. There are scenarios where Tableau is less appropriate, such very detailed reports which will load billions of records at a time; or there are more than 10 filters to condition the reports or dashboard.
