Overall Satisfaction with Teamcenter

We consult customers on using Teamcenter in integrated environments with other products and support the integration. My particular teamc is focused on CAD data exchange, other teams are consulting on "higher" level PLM exchange (e.g. with ERP) Main use cases are migration from other PLM systems to Teamcenter, synchronizing CAD structures from Teamcenter to other systems or vice versa, e.g. when other system is used for design only and Teamcenter is used in downstream processes, for example for manufacturing. We support customers in designing these integration processes or provide software for the integration
  • Openness to integrate with other systems
  • Variability management with Product Configurator
  • Transparent system architecture and easy to setup
  • Documentation / Knowledgebase
  • Communication, Roadmap
  • Provide SOA webservices in Teamcenter X for integration with other systems
  • Simplify setup and installation of Active Workspace, very many modules, not always clear which modules are needed for what functionality
  • Openness (SOA webservices)
  • CAD visualization capabilites
  • Configuration / Variability management
  • Integration of other systems to migrate data from older systems. Reduces cost by shutting down older systems where same work could not be completed as efficient.
Compared to Aras, Teamcenter provides more maturity and recognition within the industry. More established at customers and better integration with CAD systems, e.g. NX or V5.
Compared to 3DEXPERIENCE / Enovia, Teamcenter has similiar scope and maturity. Teamcenter is much easier to install and administrate. Also Teamcenter is much more open and transparent for collaboration and data exchange scenarios.

Do you think Teamcenter delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Teamcenter's feature set?

Yes

Did Teamcenter live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Teamcenter go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Teamcenter again?

Yes

Well suited: visualizing design data for processes separate from pure design, e.g. Change Management, Workflow, Manufacturing. Teamcenter allows great customization to adapt to customers need.
Not well suited: small business, Teamcenter On Premise requires some administration overhead, a smaller business might not have resources for that. This might be different for Teamcenter X but I don't have any experience with it yet.
