Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO Data Virtualization

This software is primarily used by our organization to organize the data in a much neater way, which makes analyzing it easier. It is being used throughout our organization so that we can combine all the data and not miss any important details about our clients. Thanks to its easy integration, it is also helpful when one is using a third-party application to analyze data.

Pros

  • It can be integrated quite well with its own software and other third party applications.
  • It makes setting up new data sources quite fast and easy.
  • Algorithms for analyses are quite efficient and updated frequently.

Cons

  • The pricing is high, which makes it unsuitable for small organizations.
  • Its user interface looks quite old and unappealing. The options are not placed optimally.
  • Initially, its learning curve is quite high (its bad user interface doesn't do any favours either) and it takes some time to learn it.
  • It has helped us learn more about our clients and their needs, as grouping data makes it easy to see and learn many more things.
  • It is helping us become more productive as it takes less time to compile the data.
  • Its analyses is quite good and gives us valuable insights about our performance.
TIBCO's support helped us a lot initially when we were introducing the whole thing, which was hard. Their support is also quite fast. A person is usually open to talk within 1 minute. Additionally, the support gave solutions to our problems in a professional and timely manner.

I would recommend TIBCO Data Virtualization for people in big organizations or institutes that have a lot of funding and a lot of data to analyze. It is quite efficient and fast when you are using it to join data from multiple data sources. However, it is overkill for small organizations that tend to have lower loads of data. Also, it is too expensive, so small organizations would incur losses.
