Overall Satisfaction with Unitrends Recovery Series Backup Appliance

We use the Unitrends Recovery Series Backup Appliance to daily back up the servers in our whole organization.

Pros

  • The Unitrends Recovery Unit that we have is extremely fast.
  • The Unitrends Recovery Unit that we use only takes up 1U of rack space.
  • The Unitrends Recovery Unit that we have is very reliable.

Cons

  • The old user interface is not easy to set up if you are unfamiliar with the product. I have not tried the new interface yet.
  • Short End of Life for the appliance... We only had ours about 3 years before we needed to buy a new system in order to use the latest interface.
  • Does not have a local way to quickly restore from backup.
  • As we continue to become a more web-based environment, our ROI is decreasing due to our need to store less data locally.
It works well for what we use it for. It supports 600 users in a K-12 environment.
