Overall Satisfaction with Unitrends Recovery Series Backup Appliance
We are using Unitrends as an avenue for our backups and disaster recovery. The Unitrends Appliance covers our entire company and has made it much easier to manage backups of our business servers. After rigorous testing, knowing that we can recover these virtual servers instantly has given us peace of mind when it comes to disaster recovery. With the addition of forever cloud we are also saving time and money replicating off site instead of moving our physical tape backups daily.
- File Level Recovery - Very quick, relatively easy to use
- Instant VM Recovery - Works well for Windows VMs
- Installation & Setup was very easy thanks to their on-boarding process.
- New Interface is still quite clunky, has a few bugs, and it can be hard to find things at first.
- Not being able to restore from the cloud without calling support is a major inconvenience, I look forward to this feature being implemented soon.
- Hard to find the correct file if there are numerous versions or similar file names. A better search window is needed.
- ROI on cloud storage was less than a year when we calculated man hours wasted on changing the tapes.
- Overall Unitrends allows us to have reliable DR without breaking the bank.
- The best defense to Ransomware is an up to date backup, Unitrends makes this easy.
