Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using the Veeam Availability Suite to act as a disaster recovery step with Veeam Backup and Recovery. We back up all of our virtual machines ,and some physical machines, daily to cut down the risk of losing important critical systems. This goes hand in hand with the VeeamOne which monitors our virtual network for any inconsistencies that may occur during the day.

Pros and Cons

Backup and Recovery is very quick and painless to set up.
The GUI for all the different parts are very user friendly.
Sandbox mode for different projects is handy when trying to see how a particular variable will change without impacting production.

The Web side of Veeam does need some tune up with more features.
The support site of Veeam does seem to be good but there is a lot of old, outdated material.

Return on Investment

Able to pull up logs from months ago, that are long gone on the production side, to see what cause/resolved an error is very nice.

Alternatives Considered

I have only used Veeam.

Likelihood to Recommend

Critical items that never go down are perfect examples of Veeam B/R. If one of these critical items were to go down, you can spin up a backup in Veeam and get everything back up and going again while you work on getting the failed one fixed/repaired. This makes constant downtime lower.
