Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Veeam for O365 to back up our 365 mailboxes both locally and in immutable storage online. We use it for archival purposes and quick restorations. We have been using it for about 2 years and have had no issues setting it up or connecting it with an Azure account.

Veeam for Microsoft Office 365 Needs Assessment

We were in the process of deploying 365 in our environment and wanted a stable backup solution with some flexibility. We've been using other Veeam products for years and this seemed like a logical solution, and had great reviews.

Usability

I would rate it an 8. I would like the ability to be able to back up to more types of storage and maybe have some more options when backing the data, such as splitting up backups or different types of data in a more understandable way. However, it does a great job and we haven't had any issues with it at all.

Yes, we have had many cases in the last 2 years where either entire mailboxes needed to be restored or individual files restored that weren't saved in MS's online backups any longer. We had no issues with the restores and didn't have to waste our time troubleshooting any issues. It just worked.

We have mainly restored individual e-mails back to Exchange online, or created PST's from the console to access older data and have even had to restore an entire mailbox that became corrupted, with no issues.

Support was excellent and responded to my case very quickly, which ended up being a weird setup issue on our end. The tech was very personable, patient and knew exactly how to fic the problem we were having.

Veeam for O365 is good for hybrid environments or strictly cloud-based deployments using Azure AD and Exchange Online. It has the ability to back up mailboxes, OneDrive, Teams and SharePoint data at a reasonable price. It's easy to understand and administer, as well.
