Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365

I recently started using Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 when a cloud backup provider failed us. Veeam was very easy to set up, and after the initial seed process, backups are quick. Restore procedures are very simple and could not be any more straightforward to perform. I highly recommend all Veeam products!

  • Provides simple access to Microsoft Office 365 tenants.
  • The price could always be lower ;)
  • Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 gives me peace of mind.
Microsoft does their own backups, but tenants don't have access to those backups. Having direct access to backups of anything within our tenant was important, and knowing we have full control of all our data was important to us.
The simple interface is very similar to their outstanding Veeam Backup and Replication product for virtualized environments.
We have not directly benefited from this, but a prior cloud backup provider notified us of a data loss on their side months after their failure, so having complete control of our data gives us peace of mind.
The ease of exporting an entire mailbox to a PST is a huge plus in Veeam's favor. The prior cloud service we had used only exported to MBOX, which then had to be converted before it could be used.
The top feature would be the Veeam product explorers, which allow simple item level searches.
Simplicity would be the next feature that makes using the product easy.
Backupify suffered data loss and failed to inform us of that until a few months later. Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 succeeds because we are in complete control of our own data.
I haven't engaged with support for anything yet.

I would recommend this to anyone looking to back up their Microsoft Office 365 tenant to on-prem storage. While I know it can be used to perform backups to cloud-based storage providers, I do not have any experience with that.
