Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication
We use Veeam Backup and Replication to back up our virtual server environment. We back up roughly 40 servers every night in case of failure and keep one air gapped backup each week in case of malware. It has saved us a few times in my four years here where the OS failed for one reason or another and the time and resources having a backup saved us has far outweighed the cost of the product. The product is one of my more reliable platforms, a set it and forget it type of software.

- For those using VMWare the ID number can change for various reasons and any time this happens those resources have to be re-added to your Veeam job. Mostly a quirk on the part of VMWare, but it would be nice to figure out a workaround.
- Restoring backups for failed systems has saved us countless man hours in the past
By going with an on premise server and this software we have saved thousands of dollars over what other cloud alternatives are running.
Other than testing our backups to make sure that everything still recovers we are not participating in any of these opportunities. We don't have the time or staffing to do any of this.
We have not evaluated any other solutions, we get a good rate for Veeam and have always been happy. There is no reason to jump ship.
