Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Backup VMware, both online and offline. Used for all backup and looking to include O365 for the future.

Return on Investment

Was very helpful in providing an offsite backup for DR situations.
Fast backup allowed all VMs to be backed up in a tight backup window.
No client machine needed to be added for VM backup.

Veeam Backup and Replication Backup to Cloud Platforms

We use Veeam to backup onto 5TB USB drives and we can easily take these offline and offsite.

Veeam Backup and Replication Copy Data Management

We don't use the recoverability, testing or compliance pieces of Veeam currently. We plan on looking into these features in the future.

Alternatives Considered

CommVault

Must easier to implement Veeam than CommVault and price is a much better value. Veeam support is also much better.

Other Software Used

Sophos UTM

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited for virtualization backup. Moving backup data from one destination to another, whether that be a local disk, offsite disk or cloud storage.

Very happy with deployment and backup capabilities of Veeam
