Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

We use Veeam Backup and Replication throughout our university. Our servers are mostly virtual and we use this software for backing up all of our virtual servers. Additionally, we use it for disaster recovery and have been blessed not to have to use it. The software is easy to configure and easy to use. This software meets all of our needs for disaster recovery and backups.

  • Positive return on investment since it has saved us from human error.
  • We have used this software to recover from Ransomware attacks and users who accidentally deleted important files.
  • We have used this software to recover servers from corruption.
We have not tried restoring backups to the cloud.
We have not used this functionality.
Before using this product we used Veritas and VRanger Pro, both of which fell short in a number of areas, including backing up and restoring our virtual environment and disaster recovery. This product solved all of the issues we had with those products.
Well suited for disaster recovery and for backing up and restoring virtual servers. Well suited for scanning restored servers and files for malware. We have not used the software to backup physical servers so I cannot speak in that regard. We have various workloads we backup and restore files and servers such as Exchange, SQL Server, Oracle Database Server, files servers, print servers, Linux and Windows Servers, and so forth.
