Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication
Veeam Backup & Replication is being used for backup across all vSphere environments, VMs, and servers.
- Backup ESXi VMs.
- Restore backups.
- Encryption of backups.
- Backup servers.
- It cannot backup vSphere VMs that use hardware pass-through; they have to be backed-up as individual servers that consume more licenses than a normal VM.
- It's difficult to move backups from one repository to another or from one location to another.
- It only supports 10 licenses which are very little, especially when running vSphere Virtual Container Hosts and container VMs.
- It cannot back-up vSphere Virtual Container Hosts (VCH) or the container VMs in them.
- Configuration should be easier.
- Backup scheduling is unclear.
- Backup retention is unclear.
- I can back-up most of my VMs easily
- It did take some time adapting my needs to it
- It took some time to understand how to configure it; the UI is extremely complex and non-intuitive
