Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

Veeam is used in the entire organization to protect our data and to ensure business continuity and resiliency. We use Veeam to back up our on-premise infrastructure and have been a happy user for several years. Veeam Backup & Replication has proven to be a reliable tool for backups, replication as well as recoveries.
  • Virtualized workloads
  • Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
  • In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
  • Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure
  • NAS filers
  • Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
  • Utilizing backup copies for secondary purposes via DataLabs
  • Automating test restores to validate recoverability
  • Immutable storage to protect against ransomware
  • “Instant” recovery or portability between platforms (physical > virtual > cloud-hosted)
  • Performance
  • Ease of use
  • Granular recovery
  • Veeam fulfills all our requirements and we do no have any issues regarding it's functionality
We have had somewhat steady growth in the amount of workload protected by Veeam during the several years we've been using it. Being a small/mid-sized company, our IT infrastructure is small compared to the larger companies. Currently we protect nearly 40 separate workloads with Veeam Backup & Replication.
  • Less downtime due to hardware failures - recoveries are fast
Before Veeam Backup & Replication we used an outside partner to back our on-site data up to a off-site datacenter. With growing demands for on-site services, our connection between the datacenters became a bottleneck. At the same time our company acquired a nearby property which enabled geographical separation between different backup storages.

When researching for available backup solutions Veeam stood up among the crowd with its advanced features and ease of use.
Currently the workloads protected by Veeam are hosted on-site. Our partners however use Veeam to protect cloud-based workloads we use. Due to our ability to achieve geographical separation of backup storage locations within our own infrastructure we've been able to achieve the 3-2-1 -rule without the use of cloud storage.
Currently we are not utilizing this function specifically. Veeam backs our file sharing servers up as it would any other server.
Veeam Backup & Recovery does it's job well protecting our data from hardware failures, accidental deletion of files, malware attacks etc etc. Recovering data has been made easy and this role can easily be delegated within the organization. Veeam Backup & Replication ensures our business continuity and does it well.
