Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication
We used Veeam Backup & Replication to enhance our current backup solution at some of our remote sites that we did not have licensing for our primary backup software. Veeam community edition fills in the gap with no charge for using the community edition and meets all of our backup/recovery/replication needs.
- Virtualized workloads
- In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
- Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
- Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure
- None of the above
Pros
- Replication between sites.
- Customizing retention periods.
- Backing up multiple virtual machines.
Cons
- Wish the community edition could to fail over/fail back.

Would you buy Veeam Data Platform again?
Yes
We currently are using Veeam Backup & Replication to backup a small subset of our servers and have found it to work very well. At this point we are investigating moving all of our server workloads over to Veeam Backup & Replication. The initial pricing has been below what I expected, so again another great selling point.
- Lower then expected cost of ownership.
- Advanced features included in base pricing.
Our current backup solution seemed to be working well. When we started using Veeam for some of our servers it became evident that our current solution is missing some functions that are included with Veeam. After seeing these functions and how helpful they can be we are looking at switching all backups over to Veeam.
At this point in time, we have not taken advantage of the cloud capabilities of Veeam Backup & Replication. It is something that we will continue to look at and assess as time goes on, but at this point in time, I don't have any direct experience with Veeam and the cloud backup solutions.
This is not something we have used. We are currently using it to backup virtual machines only and have not explored how it works for backing up NAS or file share backups.
