Veeam Backup & Replication - Exceptional backup
Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication
In our company, we use the Veeam Backup & Replication solution to backup all our production VMs. The Veeam Backup & Replication solution came to meet an open gap in terms of backup, which the company was outdated and with backups in an unsafe way, and it works. With Veeam Backup & Replication, we can backup VMs extremely quickly, with a centralized management console where we can quickly restore specific files, entire VMs, just volumes, etc., with robust control of stored backup versions.

Today we have 12 VMs configured for backup and backup copy feature, 1 Windows 7 workstation, and 2 VMs configured for replication. We started using the free version of Veeam Backup & Replication for two years, and then with the increase in demand for VM backups, we purchased the paid license. Since I implemented the solution in our company, the features and functionality have been excellent and occasional errors in the past have been resolved with support. Still, the simple and fast backup, the restore levels possible in the tool, and the management of restore points have always surpassed several other tools on the market.
- Company data security for business continuity
- Agility in the management and monitoring of backups
- Better use of datastore resource for backups using Veeam Backup & Replication
- License cost a little high
In our company, we had an incident in the past where the company did not have an IT employee, and it was without a robust and functional backup solution operating in the network environment. There was an internal situation where the company lost almost all of the network and its files. After this incident, I was hired by the company for the IT area and to restructure the entire IT environment. The incident made it possible to acquire the necessary datastore equipment, and the implementation of Veeam Backup & Replication as a backup solution for Hyper-V VMs was carried out, as I already knew the tool and its agility in the backup and restoration of VMs.
Currently, our company does not use VEEAM resources for cloud backup. The internet link infrastructure in our region does not provide the necessary resources to send backup copies to the cloud, as our backup data volume is high.
With the Veeam Backup & Replication solution, we use the backup of the entire company's file-share VM instead of backing up individual directories. Using the file-level restore feature, it is possible to granularly restore one or more files/folders at any restore point, which provides agility when there is a need to recover some data.
