Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

Veeam is used to back up my virtual machines running under VMware. I back up my entire enterprise with it and use it for backup and as a simple DR solution. I maintain local backups and offload them to Microsoft Azure as a cloud storage platform for the backups. I honestly do not face any challenges with the product, and it fully meets my needs and expectations.
  • Virtualized workloads
  • In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
  • Capacity Tier to store data within object storage for longer term retention
  • Automating test restores to validate recoverability
  • “Instant” recovery or portability between platforms (physical > virtual > cloud-hosted)
  • Capacity Tier to store data within object storage for longer term retention
  • Backs up VM's quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent deduplication to reduce storage needs.
  • Ability to automatically have local backups upload to the cloud automatically.
  • Veeam really needs a single console/dashboard for Backup & Replication & M365 backup products.
  • Better notification of updates/patches for Backup & replication.

Yes

Did implementation of Veeam Data Platform go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Veeam Data Platform again?

Yes

We cover about 50 VM's/workloads which was our expected amount.
  • ROI is excellent.
  • We are comfortable in knowing that our data is backed up and easy to recover in case there is a need to do so.
In our case, it was my joining the company. In my prior company, we had implemented Veeam. When I joined YCC they were using a product that was inferior in my opinion. I sang the praises of Veeam to my management and they agreed to implement it.
We offload our local backups to Azure storage.
We do not use this feature.
With Microsoft Exchange, the ability to restore/recover a single mail item within a user's mailbox and full server restores are excellent Instant recovery is an excellent tool as it allows you to run a server from a backup in real-time as it restores the backup. Upon completion of the restore, it checks for any changes that took place during the restore and incorporate them into the restored server, so there is no data loss.
