Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365

We utilize Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 as another layer of protection for our environment. This gives us the comfort in knowing our environment is protected in the event of something inadvertently getting deleted, or something needs to be corrected. I utilize their other products and have felt for a long time Veeam is a leader in the space and allows for that comfort.

I was trying to do it the old fashioned way of downloading and backing up with a server and then to a disk. Once it was backed up to the server I had to then send it off to an Internet bucket to have immutable backups available. The SaaS solution provided by Veeam is able to get everything we need quickly.
I believe the usability of the platform is very intuitive and if you are starting out can navigate through the software to get every thing setup if you follow their guides. I believe I can also have my manager, who is not technical, navigate their way through the software if I am absent to get something restored if needed.
I know that Veeam Data Cloud does provide this service and the ability to restore items in the event of an accidental deletion, or non-accidental, to get us up and running quickly. In the event something happens I know Veeam is on my side to get things restored and feel confident that our organization is in a good place in the event something happens.
There have been a few times I have had to restore things but this has been very few and far between. This is not because someone deleted something, but rather to test and make sure we knew and understood the restore process. It is very easy to assume something can be restored without issues, but it is another thing entirely to restore something in the heat of the moment when it is truly needed. I feel through this preparation and understanding that in the event something happens, we will be ready and able to restore to 100% capacity in no time.
The top two features of Veeam Data Cloud specifically for Microsoft 365 I believe is important is the knowledge it is backing up my Entra environment and knowing my logs are fully backed up if there is any malicious intent that causes items in our tenant to be deleted. It is a comfort thing knowing that Veeam Data Cloud is there backing us up not only on-prem but in the MS365 environment on Entra and Office 365.
My familiarity with Veeam Data Cloud specifically is what drew me to the product. They both seem equally capable, but when you know a product you generally tend to go that direction. I believe the other provider could back up our environment, but I am not familiar with it and as I have stated when you need to get up and going quick it is best to be very familiar with the product you are utilizing.
The support technicians at Veeam dealing with their Data Cloud platforms for MS365 and Office 365 are very knowledgeable and ready to assist in the event of having an issue. I had issues when I had initially started with the product and they were able to assist in getting these issues resolved, a problem caused by me, and didn’t make me feel bad I had not configured or understood their product well enough.

The implementation of their services is fairly simple and their engineers will assist in any issues that arise when you attempt to get the solutions implemented. One scenario we experienced in implementation is a server was not able to be backed up. The engineer logged onto our system on a remote support session and helped to diagnose why we were experiencing the issue. They ensured we were up and running again in a timely manner to remain covered on our backed up services.
