Overall Satisfaction with Viewpoint Vista

With Vista I use it to enter payments, create invoices, setup contracts, projects, and jobs. I create reports which I send throughout the organization and update a variety of records with our customers. Vista helps with making all of these processes faster. Having to do all of these processes by hand takes a lot longer than having programs that automatically put transactions to the correct places and it helps make reports quickly.

  • Vista can be slow sometimes causing processes which takes seconds to take a minute or two
  • Sometimes it will crash when using a report multiple times in a single session or random crash
  • With there are a couple programs constantly get bombarded with errors that need closed constantly to continue to the next step, but a majority of them work just fine.

  • Entering in projects is faster
  • If setup right mistakes when entering transactions happen less often
I personally wasn't involved when it can to integrating the software but believe it was done well. We have several GL accounts and costs that work properly and have been used since I have been here. There are several programs that can also help fix or resolve issues if something wasn't entered properly or a problem happens. Something that isn't great is depending on how Vista is setup, certain programs can stop working properly when the Vista system updates. There are times it can be at the organizations end, but other times it is at Vista's end, which can leave you stuck when trying to do something. However, the people at Vista are usually able to fix the problem the day of and have good support.
Vista has helped with this in regards to estimating with projects and how much should be costed to the various phases when setting up a project. Data and information project managers collect enable them to decide how much a job should be and they make green sheets to for compiling this data when putting it to a job.

Yes

Vista is a good program if you are working in construction as it has an array of programs that can be used to help manage that type of business, especially if you have several employees. Vista is not really suited for industries such as retail or even a small business with a few employees.
