Overall Satisfaction with VMTurbo Operations Manager

VMTurbo is used at our main datacenter with 700+ VM's running. It has solved our problem of resource management for our virtual environment. Instead of being reactive to resource bottlenecks (usually user complaints) we are now letting VMTurbo be proactive and the complaints have dropped to almost none! We no longer have to "keep an eye on things" as VMTurbo watches thousands of resources at once and makes the best decisions based on that constantly updated information. It is one of the handful of products that I have seen in 30+ years in IT that does what it says, is innovative, and does it better than any human could do!
  • Collects and calculates resource use and makes decisions based on superb algorithms.
  • Set it and forget it. Once tuned we rarely have to do anything except make sure we get the latest version!
  • The configuration is outstanding. Tell VMTurbo what to monitor, what not to monitor, what resources you do or don't want used, etc.
  • The forecasting tool is used by my team quite often to make sure we have the resources we need before the project is started!
  • The hardest part of VMTurbo is once you have it set up and running you log into so infrequently that you "forget" where the options are! I LOVE that problem!
  • ROI is never easy to calculate effectively. VMTurbo was one of the easiest to estimate and yet we estimated too low!
  • We are getting much better VM density due to VMTurbo making recommendations on where we can remove CPUs, RAM, etc., from VMs that were over-provisioned.
VMTurbo. Set it, forget it. Save time, staffing resources, user complaints, and lower your hardware budget. Period.
We evaluated a couple of other wannabe VMTurbo companies. Go ahead and do that too, please. It will amaze you how much more VMTurbo has to offer. After evaluating the other best-of-the-best...we chose THE best. Reporting, forecasting, resource algorithms, and everything else was better than what the "competition" had.
Only having used VMTurbo in one environment it is hard for me to make recommendations on other scenarios. If you are spending more time juggling VMs around, handling user complaints, spending more on hardware than management wants, or having trouble figuring out what hardware you will need for "x" number of new servers then this will pay for itself in no time at all.
