Overall Satisfaction with VMware vCenter Server

IT is the only department using vCenter Server in our organization. We use it to manage our 35 virtual servers. It allows us to have one pane of glass to manage all the servers in one tool.
  • You can see issues relating to the VMs in one window.
  • Quickly address any virtual hardware upgrades.
  • Upgrade all patches from one window and accomplish the upgrade quickly.
  • I don't see any need to change anything at this time. I believe the software does exactly what I need it to do. We use it daily to monitor the severs and there are possibly features we can use more often that we don't. But for what we use it for, it does what I need it to do.
  • vCenter Server has given our organization one pane of glass to look at all of our servers.
  • Less staff to run a data center
  • Easily see the health of all systems in the data center
At the time we purchased VMware, Hyper-V was one of the only competitors. We chose VMware because they were at the forefront of the industry in virtualization.
Monitoring server health, I can see if the CPU or memory is running higher than normal. I usually have this open on my desktop everyday, and can see the health warnings. This gets my attention and I go right to the server with the issue.
