Overall Satisfaction with VMware vCenter Server
We have over 50 physical servers running VMware, managed by VCenter. This gives us great flexibility in server backups and resource utilization.
Pros
- Very easy to change resources, e.g.: add ram, processors, hard disks, etc.
- Create snapshots on servers when making changes is a great feature.
- Create live server backups.
Cons
- Implementing a snapshot reminder could be useful. Snapshots tend to grow large and can be forgotten. So an option to have an alarm or email reminder set for specific VMs could be useful.
- It allows for less physical servers and better hardware utilization.
- Flexibility of adding hard drive space to file servers for example, with no downtime is amazing.
Easy to use, more intuitive.
