Overall Satisfaction with Vultr
We are using approximately 5 servers (sometimes we add another one or two servers for testing purposes). Each server is serving a different purpose, one is used to hold PHP operations, the other for MySQL database, a different one for Elastic search and the rest of the servers are dedicated for development and testing.
Pros
- Building servers is too easy.
- changing server plans are just in one click.
- a lot of newly added configurations.
Cons
- the ability of increasing a specific configuration without the need of upgrading the whole plan, for example i might need to add more memory but i'm satisfied with my current processors and hard disk capacity (or vise versa)
- Solving the problems of taking an image to the server if the server capacity (hard disk) is bigger than 1TB (which i'm currently facing a big problem because of that)
- You can not change the server region in an easy way, you have to take an image, build another server and import the image to that server which makes it a time consuming process.
Vultr recently has a lot of different type of resources that can help my organization to tune our servers according to our needs. when you get a good performance, the price matter will not be that important
I didn't need that until now, but i'll recommend having a data center in the middle east, let say United Arab of Emirates or in Saudi Arabia for example, you have to do that to increase your servers performance in the middle east region and cancel the TTL.
