Overall Satisfaction with Whova

I recently assisted Family Voices of California to conduct an online conference in the Whova app. There were lots of options for social connection, which impressed me because this is definitely something that is lacking in a typical online conference. I also liked how it managed the agendas for participants. They were able to switch workshops to other different offerings at that same time, just like they could at an in-person event. I felt it worked really well, and families did not seem to have too much trouble using it. Our agency has another online conference coming up. We used a different solution for the conference last year. This year I hope we will use Whova to host this conference.
  • Community builder ice breakers
  • Agenda visibility and flexibility
  • Sharing of photos
  • Chat
  • integration with Zoom - the chat and q/a did not communicate to Whova
  • tighter built in interpretation support
  • If participants could self-direct to breakout groups
  • Community Tools
  • Agenda
  • The Whova Event Manager was also a really nice experience and made the event successful for us, we did not need expertise beyond Zoom expertise.
  • We got to outsource the expertise of conference setup - almost zero training costs

Do you think Whova delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Whova's feature set?

Yes

Did Whova live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Whova go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Whova again?

Yes

Great for a socially motivated group so they take advantage of the strong social connection tools. Good for uses who are technical enough that they will sign up for the Whova app. They do not need to be too technical, but you need to be able to get them to install the app or it's not going to be effective. The whole thing looks like it can work on a phone, not necessarily a computer. Support for interpretation could be stronger, we essential had to direct non-english participants to Zoom for interpretation access. It was nice that this could be done from the Whova app.
